Our Trout Hand-Carved North American Olneya Ironwood desk lamp is a unique Wildlife Decor item made in North America. The lamp portion has a two-pronged plug. A clip-on shade is included that measures 7in tall vertically (7.5in slant measurement), with a 3in diameter top ring and bottom ring of 8in. Entire lamp with shade attached measures approximately 16-inches tall. It accommodates a standard incandescent bulb or to 60 watts or an CFL or LED equivalent. Bulb is not included. It also works nicely on a bedside table or vanity.

Ironwood is aptly named as it is very dense and heavy, making it difficult to work. Oleyna Tesota Ironwood trees are found predominantly in the North American Sonoran desert which stretches from Arizona south to Northern Mexico. As they have for generations, skilled artisans in this region collect naturally fallen logs and craft them into wonderfully detailed figurines and other decorative items. The finished pieces are sanded and polished to a smooth glow that needs no lacquer or top coat. They are also easy to care for with occasional dusting and buffing using common shoe polish. In addition to the beauty of deep grains and rich dark wood color, the relative scarcity of naturally fallen slow-growing ironwood makes these pieces great collectible art.
